I remember as a child my father teaching me to paint landscapes before I had even begun primary school. Since then it has been a passion and an ever inspiring reward to be able to create something with my own hands and mind that puts a smile on peoples faces. Every piece demands extreme patience and determination. The feeling of accomplishment at the completion of a piece of work is like no other.
My medium of choice has always been graphite or water colour, used in a very delicate and detailed manner to accurately depict the subject. I like to capture the mesmerizing beauty of living things - the gracefulness of an exquisite flower or the tranquility of a big cat resting.
Finally in mid-life, after a career in Graphic Design and starting a family I have decided to reach out and share my artwork with others for their enjoyment also. We need to incorporate the things that we love to do into our everyday lives before life passes us by. |
